No story sits by itself.

No story sits by itself. Sometimes stories meet at corners and sometimes they cover one another completely, like stones beneath a river.
-- The Five People You Meet in Heaven, by Mitch Albom

Was reading this book while sipping my homemade cappuccino (will show you guys next time!).  Consumption of this caffeine does not necessarily mean that I am feeling groggy and tired.  Well, at least at this point, I am not. I just need something to boost up my mood. Study mooooood!

Chemistry exams will be on Saturday the 2pm. Oh why two PM, that is when everyone can get sleepy easily. But what to do, we just gotta deal with it.

It's just like how we deal with different people and stuffs around them. This includes the stories that they carry and of course those they are trying to hide. If they are like the stones beneath a river, they will soon be revealed within a timeframe. Don't panic, and don't ever try to throw more stones into the river to prevent that to happen. Perhaps that will help, but remember, when there's too much, river gets flooded and o-ohh - You will get the first glimpse of destruction.

-- Proceed to the next chapter: The third person Eddie meets in heaven.

p/s somebody please drag me to the study desk and throw the chemistry textbook in front of me please. Yes I am familiar with the timetable, the syllabus and the thing that I should be studying for, but I have no idea what's going on right now! I assume that is the punishment for not going to lectures? So kids, never skip lectures cos you know you will never ever ever everrrrrrrr listen to the lectopia.
nah that is just what I should/MUST do right now.

So, bye.

Corner Store Cafe @ Toowong

While there are numerous fine dining out there, some of these cafes are worth the attention too!  So yea my favourites are those brunches and lunches.

It was back in the beginning of August! I have never thought of going for brunch on a weekday, but my friend came out with this idea the night before and I said yes (I'll never say no to brunches ayeee?). Corner Store Cafe @ Toowong! We decided to have a meal there before our biology lecture. However, both of us ended up skipping that lecture -.-

Anyways, What's better than starting your weekdays (unidays) with your friend over caffeine (iced coffee), eggs, salad which makes up a scrumptious breakfast/brunch? and of course not to forget that unexpected, funny and somehow stupid conversation that are bathed in that beautiful sunlight. Oh well, that's how guys start a conversation.

Besides smoothies or frappes, coffees are also the best companion for brunches!
These are the cold brew coffee, according to the menu, it's brewed for 6.5 hours using the cold drip coffee maker. But nah forgive me for not being a coffee-expert, I think that's just normal iced coffee.

So yea, here's another latte in mug!

The cafe was busy. We were kinda surprised because it was a weekday and it was working hours! Apparently everyone's enjoying their weekdays. Like what we did bahaha.

The wait wasn't that long, perhaps we were not that hungry. So yea here's the foooooood!

Banh mi. It's like a bun with pulled pork belly, chicken liver, asians herbs & boiled eggs.
Ohmygoshhh this was soooo big heyy but maybe it isn't enough for a guy LOL

Crispy skin salmon with potato salad. Salmon lovers, go for this!

Marinated Chicken Salad. This was mine and I don't think it was a salad. I was so damn full after eating this! The chicken pieces were nice, they taste like the 'ka-cha-ma' chicken (Malaysian traditional food). Quinoa was awesome in extra virgin olive oil. Overall, I think my dishes was the best among all :p

We didn't get to try their breakfast menu as we reached there around 11am. Ahh their breakfast menu seems to be more tempting. Nah I will definitely visit Cornerstore cafe again for their breakfast!

Okay, back to study, mid-semester exams tomorrow :( Please pray for me! Ciao~ Corner Store Cafe on Urbanspoon

Week 6 (ohh this sounds like the sixth week of pregnancy -.-)

Hey. This is Week 6. (#ohmygoshhh I felt like I'm actually counting the week of pregnancy -.-) Remember I said I welcomed week 5?  Thank God it was treating me quite well, despite of I caught a cold and it dramatically transformed to a fever plus headache at the end of the week. That was the most serious flu/fever I have got since I settle down in Brisbane. What makes this to the worst was this coincidence: it was the first week of mid-semester exams.

Anyways, after swallowing two pills and a 17hours sleep, I eventually recovered bahahaha. I wondered what pills had I taken, but whatever, I am healthy now! And ready for the mid-sem exams?

I hope so la.

Yea okay, gtg, 250 more bio questions waiting for me and I must complete them by tonight!!!! oh well, by tomorrow morning I guess. No more sleep for tonight, am pretty sure I can do it!
Yes, WE can do it, best of wishes to that friend out there, you told me not to give up, so let's work till the end together! :)

Anouk Cafe @Paddington

Finally we had a chance to continue our Saturday brunch-hunting journey.  This time - Anouk Cafe! Anouk is located between those steep ridges and hills. Feeling terrible driving in Paddington: look at those steep hills!!!

Saturday-the only day with alarm off. So, we ended up having lunch instead of brunch cos we reached there around 12pm. It was very busy around that time, everyone's enjoying their Saturdays!

You can choose to sit in the cafe or outside along the street. To be honest, the atmosphere in the cafe is nice (I love their written menu on the board, goshh the handwriting is so neat! How I wish our lecturers can write neater...) However, it was quite hot that morning so it turned up to be very stuffy in the cafe. We didn't want to sit outside because of the sunlight!

Too hot, so no more coffee for brunch (Normally I have skinny capp for brunch)
I had the mango, pineapple, orange and passionfruit fruit shake (I requested them to not to include banana in the skake. aahah) Myra had the soda drink which contains raspberry and mango. Her drink might not seem photogenic but nice to taste.

Finally! We weren't impressed by the slow service. We waited for like half an hour until our food came.
I got the omelette and Myra had the open steak sarnie served with haloumi, bacon, egg, onion, beetroot jam(YUMM) and sweet curls.

There was a hint of pink in the very middle of the steak so we supposed that was cooked to medium-well. At first we thought the meat will be very dry but it was juicy! *It was a bit chewier by the way.. The beetroot jam was YUMMM. The star of this dishes isn't the steak but the baked sweet potato curls. They were thin and crispy..

It was my first time having omelette at cafes cos that's something that we can simply make at home.
Well, I don't like it as it's too oily and cheesy.. It's nice to have a few bites only. The sourdough was terrible #omggg

We'll definitely come back for the sweet curls but not for the brunch! I should try their coffee during my next visit. Coffee defines how good the cafe is, right?

Ciao~ Off to work. Accidentally deleted my 1100 words which was my hardwork throughout the day. Lesson learnt.

Week 2 - Food VS Studies

Uh-huh, it's Monday again. I thought waking up at 6.30am for a 8am lecture is a nightmare, but somehow I didn't feel that hard dragging myself out from bed this morning. This week is gonna be a little bit easier compared to last week, hoooray for I don't have any practical classes this week! They are held once in 2 weeks; However, I'm actually looking forward to 'some' prac classes: observing cells is interesting hey! We were asked to look at the LIVE bull sperm cells under microscope last week and the excitement overwhelmed us when we found sth moving/swimming. Fyi, it's quite hard to find them cos they die faster under room temperature...

Nahh, just sharing how fun prac classes are! And so does uni. Well, the feeling of going back to school again...

Last week was a really tough week, but I got to meet up many long-lost friends!

Wednesday - Ian visited Brisbane!

We were classmates for two years and he travelled to Brisbane, so we decided to meet up! It's been two years since we last met.

We had dinner at Boatshed, Regatta Hotel. Both of us think that this is so far the best Australian steak that we've ever eaten.  I had the sirloin steak and he had the eye fillet. Mine was tooooo big so I was damn full after dinner. Then, we headed to Hamilton for Max Brenner. Now then I know Ian is a big fan of chocolates!!!

Thursday - Dinner with Anis & WeiLynn

We planned for a catch-up dinner since the first time we met in uni when sem2 started! Apparently both of them were excited seeing me back to uni again. Anis was craving for Korean food, so we had our dinner at Dodomi Korean Restaurant which is located at South Brisbane! It was hard to get a parking slot along the street and hey I suck in S-parking.

I had meat-phobia after eating the large steak the night before, so I decided to go for the Grilled Mushroom Salad. The portion again shocked all of us. -.-

Malaysians halo we are Malaysians.

Coffee at La Dolce Vita! We needed caffeine to keep us awake throughout the night for assignments and stuffs. :(

Friday - Late night supper with Angie @ Bubbles n Clouds.

It was nice bumping into Angie on the way home from Uni in the afternoon, we chatted for a while after we got off the bus and decided to go for supper at night! I was in a hurry that night and we only managed to leave home around 9.40pm.

Bubbles and Clouds are a newly opened cafe along Zamia Street, Sunnybank!  They serve nice coffee and italian treats!! I do highly recommend their Bondi Club Chai Latte for the chai latte lovers out there.  It's quite a nice and quiet place to chill out at Sunnybank if you don't want to drive far into the city.

Chit-chatting the whole night and playing cards. Okay, I'm bad in playing the 'bullshit' game but I'm an expert in the heart-attack game heyy.

It was a really long night, we got home around 1am and were extremely exhausted!!!!!

To sum them all up, it was a truly blessed week, having fun with friends!!!
