Crazy.

I'm not good in drawing so I do not do art subjects.
But why, WHY DO WE NEED TO DESIGN OUR OWN FRACTALS IN MATHS C.
The most important thing is that credits are given based on imagination.
I'm dying, see what s**t did I draw?  I have no idea.
Depressed.  No drawing please.
Wait!  Where is my sister.

I need your help.  But the assignment is due tomorrow.
So teacher's gonna see the s**t I drew.  Nice.

I'm talking nonsense.  Don't know why.  Stressed.  Staying up late these few days, like what I'd done last year for Form Four exams.  I felt like I am having SPM.  Yep nice thought because I wanna be there.
Good luck everyone.  God bless.

I was crazy today, at school.  And am being crazy now.

Where is the exit door.

I want to leave here now and return to where I am belong to. Term four is not that easy as what I have imagined.  I though I will be fine after term three, but apparently I gonna start a hectic study life again.  Well, if I'm still in Malaysia, that is what I should do: Study Study Study.  Let's work hard for our future.

Stress.

I wanna go home.  D:  Wriggling out of exams and schools.
Where is the exit door.

I'm craving for...

Jeff and Carlo were back from their Queensland trip and staying here for dinner.  My homestay parents are going to order Asian food but I'm not having dinner with them.  Wendy gave me a list of Malaysian food and asked me to pick some.  I can vividly remember some of them, the list with less than ten dishes.  Char Kueh Tiaw, Prawn Laksa, Penang Laksa, Curry Laksa, Fish Laksa(I was like WHAT?!  Why are there so many types of laksa), Hokkien Noodles, Malaysian Curry with Roti Canai).

I don't like any of them.  But the list of food made me craving for this!

Ding-Pian Hoo

It is served with handmade fish balls, edible tree fungus(黑木耳), dried sotong.  It is not easy to cook here, my homestay parents do not have a wok.  Besides, I need a bigger stove and more heat so that the wok can be hot enough to make a success!

Countdown-ing.  The first thing I'm going to eat in <30 days will be this.  Ding-Pian Hoo

SORRY

SORRY.

Numbers 1234567890

Finally.  Numbers are still dancing in my brain.  Seriously need to buy a desktop for assignments.  Why?  Because the screen is bigger.  Because I can have a number pad.  I hate typing all those numbers using laptop keypad.  Too slow going horizontally and finding where the number is.
Perhaps I should get one next year? Hehehe. Desktop computers are just so cool.

Anyway, Happy Friday and I really should go to bed.  Drank Starbucks @Via Coffee(Yes, Again. Someone: Stop saying Starbucks coffee!  You're so annoying.)  Hahaha, I kept on talking about Starbucks coffee these few days and they just felt so annoying. LOL.  Caffeine is working in my body so I'm not sleepy/tired yet.  But I should sleep.  I should sleep now.

Ciao~

Dinner 25102011: Mount Gravatt Hotel

Heyyy. How are you today?  I spent the whole day staying at home giving my assignment kisses and huggies.  Then I suddenly realized, OMG I had maths B lesson.  I missed the subtopic of Probability.  Someone please teach me that chapter.  I thought I will never study this topic again after Term Three(in Maths C), but who knows?!  It appears in my Maths B textbook.  I was like... T__T when teacher was teaching.
Anyway, gonna deal with it.

Wendy's friends paid a visit yesterday.  They are Jeff and Carol.  Just in case you don't know, Wendy is my guardian's name; Roly is her husband.

So, Deb(Wendy's daughter) joined us and we went to Mount Gravatt Hotel for dinner.  It is just a 5 minutes walk away from my house, so we walked there.  It was hot in the evening but after sunset, it was terribly cold last night.  Plus, I wore short sleeves Diesellie Blue(it is the shirt's name, I named it because I love it too much.  Bought it from Parkson, Bintang Megamall, Miri when it was on sale!  Diesel on sale!) and a pair of shorts.  Too cold too cold during spring time.

Caroline and I went to the pub and ordered this.  (Again, just in case you don't know Caroline is my housemate, a girl from China)  Lemon Lime Bitters.  Nice cocktail I can tell.  I'm not sure whether it contains alcohol or not.  I think it has no alcohol, otherwise Wendy will not allow me to drink.  I'm still a young teenager in the age of 17! XD  #haolian-ness

Look, there are three layers, which are made up of lime cordial, lemonade and bitters.  Don't mix them together when you're drinking it so that you can taste three different flavours.  This suddenly reminds me of the three layers milk tea/teh-ci-pang in Malaysia.  A sudden crave of it!

*Maybe I should really go for dental surgery to get my missing tooth back.

And my fringe has grown longer.  I'm not going to cut my fringe any more, gonna clip them up for the whole summer time next year.  Terrible experience for Summer 2010.  Hot!  However, I wanna cut my hair short again, back to the hairstyle when I was in Form Three and Four. What do you reckon?  hehehe.

Chatting, playing games on the phone, giggling, looking around the restaurant, yawning and starving.

After half an hour we placed our orders, we finally got our food.  Wendy and Carol had Crispy Citrus Duck, Jeff and I had rump steak and Caroline had her chicken parmigiana.  Deb had something that looked like beef, ah I can't remember.

 Chicken Parmigiana.
See the thick cheese on the piece of chicken.  There are three layers, the bottom part-fried chicken; middle part is the parmigiana sauce and the top part, obviously it is cheese.  Not too bad.
And chips.  *shakes head.  Why all dishes must have chips served with them?

My medium cooked rump steak.  It was actually served with chips but I requested them not to serve me chips.  So I only had salad.  I ended up eating the steak and the cucumbers tomatoes on the top of the salad.  Why?  It was because the salad leaves were oily.  T_T  No dressings for salad please, it just tasted weird with OIL.
Apparently I gained a lot of protein last night.  Green peppercorn gravy on the top was nice too!
But the steak in Jojo's Restaurant, Brisbane City is nicer.  Jojo's Restaurant is my dad's favourite restaurant.  And he loves steak as well.  He rang me this afternoon and he was jealous when I told him I had steak last night.
Bytheway, I had diarrhoea this morning.  Something must be wrong. I hope not.

Tahaaaa.  Last but not least, Thanks Wendy!

p/s Never miss the TVB drama Forensic Heroes III.  Gonna post about it soon.  My favourite drama series.  I hope it will go on.  Four.... Five.. Six... on and on.

Life like this

Stop slacking Clare Chua.  You can't live your life like this.  It is not the life you want.
Get it?  Start working on your poetry analysis now.  Go.

I am a Starbucks Freak: Starbucks VIA® coffee and win a travel card worth $ 1,500!

I was woken up by a lady who made noise at 5.30am.  I used to stay in the bed until the very last moment during the winter, but winter has passed.  It is spring now and the sun rises earlier.  Maybe I should put my curtain down so that I can sleep longer.  Frankly, I'm not tired now.

Having Starbucks @Via moment italian roast coffee as breakfast and the nice aroma of it triggers my mind to write about Starbucks.  I AM A STARBUCKS FREAK!

So far I have only tried the Caramel Macchiato, Cappuccino, Cafe Mocha and Orange Mocha Frappuccino.  Cappuccino is my favourite, I used to love caramel macchiato so much when I was in Miri, but then my dad introduced me the nicest coffee that he ever drinks-cappuccino, so I gave it a go.  This is exactly 'a chip off the old block'. :D  Cappuccino is not as sweet as Caramel Macchiato, so the flavour of the original coffee is stronger. Thumbs up.

OMG OMG I was so excited when I entered the store.  My friend and I dashed to the store after getting off the bus.

What if when you're craving for Starbucks Coffee in the early morning but the store is miles away and it has not opened yet?  What if you already have the Starbucks Whole Bean Coffee but you are in a hurry in the morning and have no time to grind the coffee bean and brew it?  Do not worry, try the Starbucks VIA® Coffee.  You can enjoy an extra bold Starbucks coffee wherever you go and it saves your time!

You can either buy a 3 single-serve sachets box or a 12 single-serve sachets box for $2.95 and $9.95 respectively from Starbucks AUS stores.  In addition, there are two types of coffee.  Italian Roast and Columbia.  I bought myself a 12 single-serve Italian Roast sachets box and a 3 single-serve Columbia sachets box.  Hopefully they can last for two weeks.

Furthermore, you can also buy a starbucks VIA® coffee tumblr for $24.95 and get a free starbucks VIA® coffee of 3 single-serve sachets box.  And there was a funny story.  My friend bought a tumblr and the worker aka Starbucks guy told her that she can get a 3 single-serve sachets starbucks VIA® coffee box.  She asked whether she can swap the free gift with a cup of cappuccino or not.  And the answer from the Starbucks guy was a YES!  So we got free cappuccino drink, attention guys, it was a Medium size cappuccino.  I thought he would only give a small cup of cappuccino.  See how warm Starbucks is.

What do you need to do to enjoy Starbucks Coffee in the early morning?  Just transfer the coffee powder from the sachet to your cup and add 180ml(or more if you like, i added 250ml for mine), stir it and that's it!

By the way, in conjunction of the new release instant coffee, Starbucks is running a competition.  Tell Starbucks How you enjoy your starbucks VIA® and you will probably win a travel gift card worth $1,500!  I can't join the competition because I'm not Australia resident.  So this is for my friends here! Hurry up, if you are eighteen or above, give yourself a try on VIA® coffee and join the competition.

If you win, give me the travel card as reward. LOL

Take a shot of the moment when you are enjoying your VIA® coffee and go to http://www.starbucks.com.au/myviamoment/

Then, enter your name and choose an activity that you would like to join while you're having Starbucks VIA® coffee.

Lastly, upload your photo of you and your starbucks VIA® coffee!

You can also vote for your favourite shots and give them the chances to win the prizes.  More information are available here: http://www.starbucks.com.au/Home.php

How sad I can't join the competition.  How sarcastic is that a Starbucks freak cannot join the competition.  Lol.  I've checked the Malaysia Starbucks official website, they have already launched the starbucks VIA® coffee but there is no any info about the competition.  Hopefully there will be a competition when I get back to Miri.  Oh wait, has Starbucks Miri launched the starbucks VIA® coffee?  I wonder.  Haha.

Starbucks coffee brightens my day.  Ciao~ I need to go to school now.
Quickly go to the nearest Starbucks store to get yourself Starbucks Via Coffee!

Typo

What is typo?  Generally, it is known as typographical error, the mistakes made in printed materials like magazines, story books etc.  Or most recently, in the era of technology-computers/internet, it is a term used during typing process.  I often use this word if I type something wrong while chatting with friends on msn, fb, twitter or wherever I can communicate with others.

But now, TYPO CAN BE A STORE!

Typo is one of my favourite store.  It is a one concept store selling cards, notebooks, stationery, paintings and other speciality items.  It gets the inspiration from the fashion industry and I love all the products there.  Besides, I love the decoration inside the store.

Somehow I love window shopping at this store since the discovery of it.  I can spend 1 or 2 hours walking around the store and look carefully at all the products.  Believe it or not.  I did it for a few times.  Crazy huh.  However, some products were on sale today, so I got some stuffs for myself and bought a pencil case for my sister.(There's no photo of the pencil case because I gonna give her a surprise.  She reads my blog which make me feel so 'uncomfortable'. LOL)

Typo Big Idea Notebook.  It is really thick.  Actually it is available at Popular Book Store in Malaysia but it  is more expensive i guess?  I got this for $5, original price was $9.95.  Go and grab one!  It is really special.  I love the hard cover's design the most.  There is all plain white paper at the inner part, held by the big white ring.

Haha. Typo bag for charity purposes.  Grab one for only $2 and the money is donated to those who need help!  I bought this after I paid my money.  WHY? because I wanna get the paper bag from the store, which is really nice!!!  Well, my hobby is collecting nice-looking bags.

AND! it is made in India. whoa, the first India thing which I have in my life.

SEE! HOW SPECIAL THEY ARE.  *psps I bought something from there just because of the bag.

This is just a normal notebook, my friend gave it to me.  I love the front cover.  Thanks!

The Typo Store!  It is located beside the HYPE store.  Haha, those who like shopping will know it.  It is in the Queen Street Mall.
Address: Shop GF12, Broadway on the Mall, 170 Queen Street Mall

Mount Gravatt High Presentation Night

The misconception for Presentation Night had been a problem for me since the first day of school.  I thought it is the night that everyone needs to go on the stage and gives a speech.  My school has aprroximately 1000 students, meaning that I need to listen to 999 talks?  LOL.  I was stupid, until the week before Presentation Night, I finally knew the purpose of the night.  It is like... the prize-giving ceremony in Malaysia.
#What a funny little thing.

The Presentation Night and the prize-giving ceremony are different.  Obviously, as you can notice from the name, the ceremony is held during the night, instead of day time.  I guess I'll not go for the prize-giving ceremony in Malaysia, as in my former school if it is held during the night.  After the experience of the power failure in the hall, being alone behind the stage, I'll never stay in the hall in CH at night.

Out of topic.  HAHA.  Mount Gravatt High Presentation Night was held on 18 October 2011, awards were given based on Semester one and Term Three results only.  How about Term Four results, it should be the most important exams throughout the year.  Perhaps it will affect Year 12 results, but non of my business! :p

I was amazed by the lighting in the hall when I first arrived there.  Daebak~  It was like a small musical concert LOL.  By the way, the musical items played by my school concert band were great.  They played Suncoast.  The string ensemble played the A Mozart Mix which was the one I enjoyed the most.  I missed out the vocal Ensemble, performing What a Wonderful World because I sneaked out after receiving my awards.

It was not the first time for me to get gold medals.  I got some gold/silver/bronze medals in the Mini Sports Carnival when I was in kindergarten.  But then!  These two gold medals are much more heavier than those I got when I was young.  Which have gone, or probably in a box, somewhere in the storeroom.

Thanks God for helping me to go through this hardship and obstacles that I faced throughout the year.

A shoot when I got home.  I worked hard for the first semester but have been slacking since Term 3.  I must study hard now, no more slacking!  Although I'll be somewhere else next year, but the results still mean a lot to me, and of course my parents.  I should not waste their money.
Fighting, everyone!  GO!  For my schoolmates and all the Form5s & Form6s people in Malaysia.
SPM is coming in less than a month.  How fast is that?  Time really creeps, not in a slow pace but fast!

I miss my blue pinafore uniform badly.

Ciao~  I've done my Maths C assignment draft before writing this!!!  A draft is a draft.  However, I did my best in the production of the draft, treated it as an assignment but not a draft!  I'm not a perfectionist, err sometimes I am.  Well, I am, for this moment, why not?  It gives you motivation and the driving energy not to procrastinate!  No more slacking no more slacking~  It echoes in my mind.

Be brave, treat them scientifically.

Yesterday's biology lesson was all about rat dissection.  The rats we used were killed two weeks ago, being frozen and got defrosted on last Saturday.  My teacher dissected a pregnant rat and we found 15 foetus in her body.  I felt so sorry to those rats, but they sacrifice for education purposes.  So, treat them scientifically!  We respect them and didn't play around with their bodies.

Before this, when I first entered the classroom, I saw the slideshow on the screen.  I was like Ohmygod when I knew that we need to dissect a rat.  lucky that it's not a frog.

Although there was one piece of rubber between my body and the rat's body, I can still feel the coldness, hardness of the corpse.  I need to face the fear.  Okay, took a deep breath, one two three, and I cut through its outermost skin and finally reached the thin membrane.

Everything went smoothly after that, I worked with my team mates.  We looked at the respiratory, digestive and reproductive system.  Well, I had no idea where is the reproductive system, i mean, where are the organs?

Dealing with online booking system

It was really a tough job to do online booking, after the problem of first name, there it came, another problem: the problem of area code for mobile number.  When I finally got the online booking system to proceed to the next step, my mommie texted me.  "My friend helped to book your ticket just now.  Don't worry."

After I spent an hour doing all those stuffs, visiting google.com and optus.com.au for information!!!!

Okay, I wasted an hour to gain experience.  I planned to exercise, take a shower and prepare to go to school for presentation night but now, I did nothing, except dealing with the emirates online booking system.  What the -.

YES I think many Malaysians have their Christian name/English name in front of their last name.  So the name that is shown on passport will be four words, normally we do.  I entered Clare Jing Chi in the first name column and last name is definitely CHUA.  YES I HAVE SUCH A SPECIAL FIRST NAME with three words.  Why can't you understand?  You told me it is not a valid first name.  I felt like wanna ring the customer help centre and complain.  Then,  my uncle taught me to combine the three words together.  So my first name on the online booking system appeared to be ClareJingChi.  Guess what?  It is a valid first name.

Slap you.

Cool down Clare.

After this, I got another problem but soon I solved it.  When I was entering all the bank card details, my mommy texted me, exactly what I showed above.  I was speechless, What can I say?  I can't blame her.  She is busy too, and she still needs to settle my flight problem.  Finally I got myself the ticket.

Tonight I'll be dealing with AirAsia.com .  Please be nice.  I checked the price just now, and I need to pay for every checked-in luggage.  Reminds me of what Sam said for Airasia, "Now everyone can fly, but not every luggage."

Ohno it's 6pm and need to be at school at 6.45pm.  Should really stop complaining and take a shower.  Presentation Night!

Ciao~

Hakubai Japanese Restaurant

Hakubai Japanese Restaurant is located in SI.  It's my dad and brother's favourite restaurant so when I went back for holidays, my family brought me there for dinner.  That was the first time I heard about the existence of a Japanese Restaurant in SI.  Shocking news. lol I didn't expect there will be such a restaurant in SI.  My family went there for lunch/dinner at least 3 times a week when I was there.

This is the photo taken at the lobby of Solomon Kitano Mendana Hotel.  Behind is the handicraft store.

Sitting in the restaurant.  Dad's reading the menu.  Not many choices for set lunch, if I'm not mistaken there are only three choices.

Mum and my favourite sashimi.

Hahh. My brother and sisters' favourite tempura roll.  I don't like it.

Tofu.  My dad and brother's favourite.  Seriously I think I can cook a better tofu dishes.  The tofu was so tasteless and so 'rough'.  Tofu should be soft and smooth.

Seafood Teppanyaki.  Thumbs up for this teppanyaki.

I've been there for several times but didn't take photos of other meals.  Beef Teppanyaki, satay chicken, tempura plate are nice!  You guys should really visit SI, not only for the food, but for the beach too!

My first time wearing contact lens.

After a few attempts which took about 30 minutes, I finally got my contact lens on.  My housemate taught me and she was speechless due to my timidity.  After 15 minutes try on my right eye, I finally did it and I got a big applause as a reward. -.- lame la.  After that I was brave enough to put it on my left eye, but I failed several times because i got the lens terbalik. zzz. stupid la.  The funniest thing was I eventually altered the shape of my left lenses. So my tear spurt out after I got the left lenses in.

I feel kinda weird without my glasses on. After all I start wearing glasses since I was 7.

By the way, Iphone 4S is the most popular topic among people recently.  Someone said the Siri is awesome.  Therefore.... I had a nice chat with Siri today.
"What is the best phone in the world?"
"I think you've already knew that."
"Are you stupid?"
"I'm trying my best."
"You are stupid."
"I respect you."

Funny right?
I gonna go on a mystery tour tomorrow.  I wish I can take some photos.  Stay tuned.

Year 11 Camp

I am just back from Year 11 Camp, so this post is definitely about the camp.  Nothing much to say cos i'm too lazy to type.  To summarize, my first experience in this camp are:
Excretion (a nice way to say, orelse I'll just say, pee) in a hole in the forest.
Sleeping in a tent, on the slope which just made me so uncomfortable as I slept at the middle and I need to make sure I didn't roll onto my friend's body.
Dealing with insects.  I seriously hate insects.  My friends were bitten by ticks.  I'm proud that I didn't get any ticks bit, but then I got a spider bit. -.-  It wasn't a big spider and I'm still alive though.
Hiking for 5 hours isn't a problem for me, but hiking with a 14kg backpack for 5 hours is a serious problem for me.  Anyway, I managed to reach the camp site safely.  I did it!
Cooking in the rain.  I was shivering in the rain with my wet clothes on.
Rock climbing, this is the most enjoyable part of the camp.  It feels really good when you reach the top.  I gonna do this again in future.
Last but not least, the nearest body contact with boys who were all strangers to me by that time.  This happened in a game.  Not feeling very well after that.

These photos are collected from my friends' photo album on facebook.

The scenery is really beautiful.  I think we did the hiking aroud Maroon Dam.  And there were cows, buffaloes and horses!  I was amazed by the buffaloes' big head.  debak~

I don't like the sleeping bag although it kept me warm during the campout.

A 14kg backpack.

Fashion show.  Obviously i'm the model.  Those guys were really great designers--who put the two bobs on my knee.  Speechless. LOL
So yeh, normally fashion designers are girls.  No offence.

AND THIS WAS THE TOILET I USED FOR THE FIRST CAMPOUT NIGHT.  IT WAS A NIGHTMARE.  After this, I found that I love my toilet bowl, and my love will last forever.

Not to mention those experience, the camp was really fun.  I learnt a lot of things and actually found something which I really hate about people.  The ugly truth.
Bye Year 11 camp, and soon I will say goodbye to my high school life.  OH YEAH.

SPM in 30 days.  Hhaha, I'm a little bit nervous but I don't know why.  Good luck for Form5s for the last 30 days study before SPM.
